Backlink Value Calculator

Score a prospect on the four gates that decide whether a link is worth building — authority, relevance, traffic and placement — and get a straight build-or-skip verdict.

The prospect

Ahrefs DR, Moz DA or similar, 0–100. Below 50 fails the gate.
Estimated organic visits per month. Under 1,000 fails the gate.

How the score works

Four weighted components, and four hard gates. A prospect that fails any gate is not worth building regardless of how the rest scores — that is the whole point of judging links rather than counting them.

  • Authority, 30%. DR 50 is the floor. Below it, the link passes too little to matter.
  • Relevance, 30%. An unrelated site passes almost nothing, whatever its DR.
  • Traffic, 25%. 1,000 organic visits a month minimum. A high-DR site with no traffic is usually dormant or manipulated.
  • Placement, 15%. In the body of real writing. Footer and sitewide links are discounted heavily and treated as a gate failure.

NoFollow does not fail a prospect on its own, but it caps the score — the link still sends traffic and still looks natural in a profile.
