What actually matters here

  • Width, not characters. Google truncates on rendered pixels. A title in capitals runs out of room far sooner than the same character count in lowercase.
  • The keyword near the front, because the end is what gets cut and because readers scan the first few words.
  • One brand mention, at the end. Leading with your brand spends the most valuable space on the word people already know.
  • Every page different. Duplicate titles across a site are one of the most common and most fixable on-page problems.

Titles get rewritten by Google roughly a third of the time. That is usually a signal the original was vague, stuffed, or did not match what people searched.

Every tag optimised, rankings unmoved?

On-page work has a ceiling. Authority is what raises it.
